Coffee with || Noelia Terron-Laya

WHY?/WHO? My name is Noelia Terrón-Laya. I was born In Madrid, but I moved to London for my university studies in Fashion Design and Fashion Buying. After living in London for quite a few years I moved to Paris some months ago. I work as freelance fashion designer and stylist, and I devote some of my free time to the blog Cahier de Style, where I like to share my illustrations [like the ones in the magazine above], collages and all the things that I come across every day and that inspire me.

FAVORITE music: My current top 5 of pop songs in Spanish are Alex Anwandter: “Shanana”, Rubi: “Y yo en mi casa”, Fran Loud: “Me vendo”, Mecano: “Barco a Venus” and Linda Mirada “Secundario”.

FAVORITE shopsLiberty of London. When I was living in London, Liberty was one of those places that I could visit everyday and always find something new. Their selection of brands and designers is amazing, and it was my favourite place to buy fabrics for my collections and for all those silly little things for home that you don’t really need but make the difference! The Shop at Bluebird. Also in London, it combines and mixes all the products that I like to see in one room: clothes, accessories, magazines, books, records and food! Love Dispensary In Madrid. It has the best selection of established and upcoming designers in a great setting! Deyrolle. The perfect cabinet of curiosities exists and is in Paris. If you love taxidermy and entomology it’s definitely your place, but even if not, you’ll think you are in a Natural History museum where you can actually buy things! Merci This Parisian Concept Store feels like going to someone’s place to buy things. In this loft near the Marais you find everything from clothes to furniture or stationary. And it has a lovely book-filled café!

FAVORITE food: I love cooking and at the moment I’m obsessed by trying to cook macarons, those little and colorful pastries that are everywhere in France. I knew it was difficult, but not so much: I’ve already tried three times with no success… and I made my friends eat the results!

CURRENT inspiration: Helmut Newton’s polaroids. They summarise all the magic of his photography combined with the instant dimension of a Polaroid.

COFFEE with... Always cappuccino with two lumps of brown sugar and chocolate topping!
